Terminator 2: Judgement Day [M]

In 1984 the Terminator was sent back in time to kill Sarah Connor, thus ridding the future of mankind’s war leader and last hope. It failed. But now the Terminator is sent back again, this time to protect young John Connor from another, more advanced breed of Terminator that is sent back to destroy him. With the help of his mother, Sarah, young John and his protector set out to change the course of the future, hoping to prevent the terrible Judgement Day that will wipe out humans and mark the rise of the machines.

Made seven years after the original epic blockbuster, Terminator 2: Judgement Day is more action-packed, more thrilling, and, thanks to simply amazing special effects, generally outshines its 80s predecessor. Usually I firmly believe that the sequels are never as good as the first movies, but this film has made me eat my words.

THIS MOVIE IS MIND-BLOWINGLY AWESOME! Having said that, it has to be said that the real star of the show was the new and improved Terminator, T-1000. The special effects that brought this thing to life were absolutely mind-blowing! The fact that it’s near invincible, it can melt and then morph into practically any shape or form, and it’s sleek and deadly weapons and transformations are not to be missed! Up there with the Silver Surfer and the Transformers at any rate.
Arnie reprises his role as the Terminator, this time being worshipped as the good guy and not the villain, although you have to admit that he was pretty damn cool as a bad guy. It was nice to see Arnie have much more a script in this film as well as a healthy blend of comedy and heart-warming almost-paternalism. He kept playing the part of the robot, but he personified it a little bit more which admittedly can be a little cheesy, but he didn’t overdo it, which was right on. Loved him!
Starring Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong, and Robert Patrick, Terminator 2: Judgement Day was a visually brilliant and rollicking film packed with action, violence, drama, explosions, fire, knockout special effects, and comedy. IT WAS FREAKIN’ AWESOME!

Come with me if you want to live
