Tangled [PG]

Once upon a time, there was a magic flower that had the power to heal. A wicked woman hid this flower and used it to keep herself young and beautiful forever. But one day, the flower was plucked from its hiding place and its powers were used on the fair queen who was sick with child. The flower’s power went into the golden hair of the child, and one night the wicked woman snatched the baby from its cradle and raised her as her own to keep the magic of the flower for herself. Sick of being kept away in a tower, one day the lost princess Rapunzel evaded her keeper and had an adventure.

A nice twist on the original fairy tale, Tangled was a very cute and romantic film filled with romance, dreams, and all new Disney classic songs. I hearted it.

Once upon a time, there was a magic flower that had the power to heal. A wicked woman hid this flower and used it to keep herself young and beautiful forever. But one day, the flower was plucked form its hiding place and its powers were used on the fair queen who was sick with child. The flower’s power went into the golden hair of the child and one night, the wicked woman snatched the baby from its cradle and took her away to a lonely tower where she raised her as her own, keeping the power of her hair away from the world and all for herself. Sick of being kept locked away in a tower, the lost princess Rapunzel, after eighteen years of waiting, evaded her keeper and had an adventure.

What a lovely little film. Like any modern Disney classic like The Princess and the Frog, Tangled was a really cute and clever take on an original fairy tale, but done with a twist. The story was there, the songs were memorable, and the characters were just lovely. I have to say that I particularly like Maximus the horse. Best character!
What I find great about this film is that it’s the animation of Pixar, yet it’s not labelled as a Pixar production, it’s a Disney production. I think this has to be the fist time that Disney has not done either a live action film or real “animated” movie. I’m sure there’s a better way of explaining what I mean, but I can’t think of it. Sorry. I will say though, that the entire thing is a real visual treat.
Featuring the voice talents of Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, Donna Murphy, Ron Perlman, M.C. Gainey, and Jeffrey Tambor Tangled was a cute, fun-filled Disney classic filled with memorable songs, action, romance, and even more memorable characters. I absolutely loved it!
