Stardust [PG]

Pirates, witches, magic, royalty, celestial beings and death. What would you brave to prove how much you love her?
Ok, so I just HAVE to review this flick sooner rather than later because this is a movie that I recommend to a lot of my customers at work, many of whom have come back to me and said "you were right, this was great."

So we're now entering a world of action, fantasy, romance, and magic. By watching Stardust.

Meet Tristan Thorn, a blooming young man trying to find his feet, who seeks to marry the most beautiful girl in all the village, Victoria. Upon inviting her to join him on a late-night picnic, the two see a falling star and, in an attempt to woo her, Tristan promises Victoria that, for her hand in marriage, he would cross the wall and bring back that fallen star.
Tristan - "Victoria. For your hand in marriage, I 'd cross the wall and I'd bring you back that fallen star."
Victoria - " You can't cross the wall. Nobody crosses the wall. Now you're just being silly."
Tristan - "I'm not being silly. I'd do it. For you, I'd do anything."
Aww isn't he a romantic? And guess what. He does cross the wall, but once he's on the other side, he gets more than he bargained for. By crossing the wall, Tristan, unknowingly, enters the mythical kingdom of Stormhold and his plan takes a strange turn when he discovers that the star he intends to give to his beloved is actually a celestial beauty named Yvaine. Unfortunately for Tristan, he's not the only person interested in the star.

The film has an amazing cast littered with names including Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert De Niro (both of whom steal every scene they're in), Ricky Gervais, Claire Danes, Ben Barnes, Charlie Cox, Sienna Miller, Mark Strong, Rupert Everett, Peter O'Toole, Jason Flemying, and Ian McKellen. How can you NOT want to watch the movie after hearing all that!?
Filled with wicked witches, scheming princes, black magic, enslaved princesses, mythical creatures, flying pirates, and magical candles, Stardust is the adventure of a lifetime that will have you laughing, clutching your chair, sighing with relief, and then biting your nails again. A perfectly balanced movie with action, romance, fantasy, swordplay, lightning, humour, and everything in between, this film is one that you don't want to go through life without having seen at least once.
Final parting words on the subject, Robert De Niro best says it with a clenched fist in the air and a fierce and growling "ARRR".

...ARRR!
