Ever since high school, Romy and Michele have been
inseparable and even now, ten years later, the two are still the best of
friends; living together in LA, single and practically unemployed, but they
don’t let that spoil their fun love for life. But when they get wind of their
10-year high school reunion, the fact that they haven’t become successful or
changed in the slightest is thrown into sharp relief. Unable to get decent jobs
or boyfriends within the two weeks to the date, the girls come up with another
way of showing off their success to their classmates…lie.
I ADORE THIS MOVIE!
It’s the ultimate chick flick, filled with a fantastic 80s soundtrack, the
cutest outfits, and two of the most delightful heroines you’d ever want to
meet! I could not help smiling from start to finish!

Running just over an hour long, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion holds something for every
female, and appealed to me on so many different levels.
Ultimately the story is
pretty simple and the shortness of the movie does not leave much room in the
ways of drama and friendship crisis, but those minor flaws are completely
forgotten when you look at the performances of the two leads, their infectious
and bubbly view of the world, and their adorable, absolutely adorable outfits!
The costumes were just
SO CUTE, I really wish that my wardrobe was like Romy and Michele’s: a
fabulous and eccentric blend of practically every fashion era from 50s prints
to shining, spangly material, sequins, and even violently coloured faux fur. I
adored their wardrobe.
Mira Sorvino plays the role of Romy very well, bringing
more of the drama, maturity, and harsh reality into the little bubble that the
girls live in, and Lisa Kudrow is really just playing her role in Friends, but she is so cute and bubbly
and fun that you cannot help but fall in love with her.
Starring Alan Cumming,
Janeane Garofalo, Julia Campbell, and Elaine Hendrix, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion is a gorgeous chick flick
that I think everyone can identify with in some way or another. Filled with
romance, memories, great fashions, friendship, a classic soundtrack, and
comedy, I ABSOLUTELY ADORED THIS MOVIE!
