Charlie's Angels [M]

Alex, Dylan, and Natalie are Charlie’s Angels: a team of private investigators backed by the anonymous millionaire named Charlie. Having solved many mysteries with impeccable style over the years, they come highly recommended. But when they get a case about a kidnapping and some stolen software, they come a bit of a cropper. As they delve deeper into the mystery, the entire operation takes a turn that none of the girls could have expected.

This film was really hot when I was going from primary school to high school, and I remember that pretty much every group of girls had a trio that would pretend to be the Angels. Everyone would fight over who was most like Cameron Diaz, because everyone thought she was the hottest. I never agreed with that, and I still don’t today. I don’t care what anyone says, DREW BARRYMORE IS THE HOTTEST OF THE ANGELS, NOT CAMERON DIAZ! There, I didn’t stutter. Filled with action, romance, crime, mysteries, and twists of the plot, Charlie’s Angels is the perfect Friday-night-in movie.

Alex, Dylan, and Natalie are Charlie’s Angels: a team of private investigators backed by the anonymous millionaire named Charlie. Over the years they have solved numerous cases with impeccable style and, therefore, come high recommended. But when they get a case about a kidnapping and some stolen software, they come a bit of a cropper. As they delve deeper into the mystery, the entire operation takes a turn that none of them could have expected.

What makes this movie absolutely perfect is the fact it’s perfectly balanced between action and comedy. There a plenty of arse-kicking action scenes and street brawls and fights and stuff and that adrenaline rush is then relieved a little thanks to the light, comedy script. Although, I have to admit that most of the film’s comedy comes in the form of Bill Murray. The entire thing is just a rollicking rollercoaster ride.
Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, and Cameron Diaz are the film’s heroes and the chemistry between them all was really genuine. They were real girls, and they were just brilliant to watch.
Starring Billy Murray, Crispin Glover, Kelly Lynch, Sam Rockwell, Tom Green, and Tim Curry, Charlie’s Angels is an action-packed romp of a film filled with romance, comedy, gadgets, hot outfits, great slow-motion fight sequences, memorable characters, and, oh yes, action. It’s a classic!
