Look Who's Laughing (Box Set) [M]

Look Who’s Laughing is the box set of the classic comedy trilogy about love and other disasters. When Molly realises that she’s pregnant to a married man, her love life takes a downward turn as she bases her decisions on what’s best for her newborn son. Then, along comes James and a series of side splitting disasters occur as the two battle through the dramas romance, marriage, and children.

My parents introduced me to these films shortly after I fell in love with John Travolta in Grease and I am very grateful that they did. Filled with everything from romantic disasters to baby narration, the Look Who’s Talking movies are timeless comedy classics that can be watched again and again.

Look Who’s Talking – When Molly discovers that she has become pregnant to a married man, her love life takes a downward turn. Choosing to keep the baby, she now struggles to find a man who will be a good father for her son Mikey. Than along comes James, and a series of romantic disasters are set into motion as the two become the most unlikely of companions.
Look Who’s Talking Too – Having gotten over the first hurdle of finding a good dad for Mikey, Molly now faces the dramas of married life. But she’s not the only one suffering. Mikey is struggling with the burden of having a little sister and, with James and Molly constantly fighting, it’s only going to get worse before it gets better.
Look Who’s Talking Now – With Mikey and Julie growing up, life has gotten harder for James and Molly. On top of keeping the kids under control, James’ new job that keeps him away from home, and Molly slowly losing her spark, some badly behaved pets have joined the family and, without James to help her, Molly is slowly losing her mind.

The chemistry between John Travolta and Kirstie Alley is priceless. They are absolutely perfect together. John is charming, witty, and a big kid whilst Kirstie is organised, mature, and a little dramatic. Both deliver wonderful performances and it’s just so enjoyable to watch them together on the screen.
The other thing I love about these movies is the voiceovers that are used for the babies and the animals. Unlike your movies like Dr. Dolittle and stuff where the animals and kids’ mouths move in time with the voiceover, the voiceovers are more like narrations so that  the audience understands what the baby is saying, but sees it from the point of view of the adult characters. I don’t think another film has been made like this. Classic.
Starring John Travolta, Kirstie Alley, Olympia Dukakis, George Segal, and featuring the voice talents of Bruce Willis, Roseanne Barr, Damon Wayans, Danny DeVito, and Diane Keaton, Look Who’s Laughing is the box set of the three hilarious Look Who’s Talking films. Filled with animals, babies, paranoia, marriage, and romance, these are films that I can watch again and again and not get tired of. Love ‘em.
