Ben Kinnear and Mike Paddock are two undercover detectives
whose reputations go to hell when, through a series of events, their good names
and faces become the laughing stock of the bureau. As the boys try harder to
regain their credit, they discover that all their misfortunes are interlinked
in a chain of corruption that goes right up to the top of the food chain. With
the help of a nervous account and “bad shot” and a cynical ex-cop, Ben and Mike
set out to dish up a little revenge, even if it means taking down their entire
bureau.
This movie is genius! How can I have made it this far in life without
watching it? We’ve had it in the collection for ages and I never watched until
today! Written and directed by Tony Martin, Bad
Eggs is a wonderfully clever and funny cop comedy that scales the lofty
heights of Lethal Weapon and puts
Kinnear and Paddock in the company of Starsky and Hutch. It’s an instant
classic!

Very different to Crackerjack,
Bad Eggs grabs the audience by the throat right from the first reel, and
from there it only escalates into a fantastic rollercoaster ride of clever
comedy, loveable characters, and some great action. It’s important to note that
this movie has one of the best and cleverest chases ever, rivalling that of
Will Ferrell and Will Arnett in Blades of Glory.
The chemistry between the two leads, Bob Franklin and Mick Molloy
was wonderful. The two worked so well together, feeding of each other, being
there for one another, and what I really loved was that there relationship
wasn’t too over-emotional or “bromantic” like many of these comedies. See,
clever writing wins out!
Starring Judith Lucy, Bill Hunter, Alan Brough,
Marshal Napier, Steven Vidler, Nicholas Bell, Robyn Nevin, and Shaun Micallef, Bad Eggs is a fantastically clever movie
packed with action, romance, suspense, corruption, drama, and heaps of comedy.
I absolutely loved it; it’s really clever and wonderfully refreshing in terms
of a cop movie.
