Comedienne and theatre diva Fanny Brice has never thought
about her marriage with Nick Arnstein…until today. Today Nick comes home form
prison and Fanny must think about whether their marriage can work or not. So
she reflects upon how it all started: her break into show business, her sudden
success, and her transformation from a funny girl into a leading lady.
This was
the film debut of renown and incomparable diva Barbra Streisand. A fantastic
break into the homes and lives of so many, Funny
Girl beautifully tells a very gorgeous life and love story that is
perfectly balanced between romance, drama, and comedy. Filled with gorgeous
songs sung so superbly by Barbra, beautiful costumes, and a very well written
script, this movie is gorgeous!

The soundtrack and score to this film is magnificent and without equal.
Giving birth to some of Barbra’s most famous tunes including “Don’t Rain On My
Parade” and “People” everything musical about this movie was just perfect.
Watching this film and seeing Barbra sings these songs so beautifully made me so envious of the woman. Oh how I wish I
could sing like her!
On top of stealing the show with her beautiful and phenomenal
singing voice, Barbra delivers a most memorable performance as our leading
lady. She was funny, stylish, and really made the scenes about her. She knows
the power she has and she takes that shot and really packs a punch. She refuses
to be overlook and to be honest it’s almost impossible to do so. I love Barbra!
I have to draw attention to
the performance of Omar Sharif as well because he is just so gorgeous! Throughout the film he is charming, witty, sincere,
and just irresistible! I’d fall in love with him too if I was She.
Starring Kay
Medford, Walter Pidgeon, Lee allen, Mae Questel, and Anne Francis, Funny Girl is a classic musical boasting
immortal songs, brilliant performances, and just general greatness. Filled with
music, romance, ambition, drama, and comedy, I loved it.
Don’t tell me not to live, just sit and putter. Life’s candy and the
sun’s a ball of butter. Don’t bring around a cloud to rain on my parade!
