Once upon a time in a distant kingdom there lived a beloved
king, queen, and beautiful princess named Snow White. When Snow White’s mother
passes away, the king remarries only to be slain by his bride, an evil witch
and now Queen, on his wedding night. Captured and locked away in a tower for
most of her life, Snow White finally manages to escape and flees into the Dark
Forest. The Queen then orders a huntsman to find her and bring her back but,
through a series of events, the huntsman ends up joining forces with the
princess and a group of dwarves in an epic battle to try and overthrow the evil
Queen once and for all.
Dazzling, this movie is absolutely DAZZLING! I still
maintain the opinion that there is no universe in which Kristen Stewart is more
attractive than Charlize Theron, but after seeing her in this film, I’m content
to stop bitching about it. I absolutely loved everything about this film, even
her.

There are two elements to this movie that make it absolutely breathtaking.
One
is the general way in which it is filmed as well as the sets, fantasy computer
effects. The story is a darker take on the beloved fairytale that we all know
and love, but even when things are at their darkest, the film still manages to
be breathtakingly beautiful. The marriage of camera angles, art direction,
sets, costumes, hair and makeup all culminated in this stunning 2-hour feast
for the eyes. Special applause has to go to the set designers, the hair and
makeup teams, and the costumes designers. The costumes were absolutely
incredible, particularly the ones that Charlize got to wear! They were
absolutely breathtaking!
The other element that makes this movie so dazzling is
the performances from absolutely all its cast. The line-up is studded with
recognised and loved names, each giving absolute knockout performances, but
without a doubt the real star of the show was Charlize Theron who plays the
Evil Queen. Charlize delivered a performance that was dripping with drama. I
was absolutely captivated by her from start to finish. Charlize’s rendition of
the Queen was one that delved into her mind and psyche, giving a performance
that was deranged, unstable, seductive, sinister, and sometimes violently
dramatic. All the while she holds you by the throat so you can’t turn away, you
don’t want to either.
Starring Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Sam Claflin,
Sam Spruell, Ian McShane, Ray Winstone, Toby Jones, Nick Frost, and Bob
Hoskins, Snow White and the Huntsman
is a dazzlingly dark take on the classic fairytale packed with magic, bravery,
strength, beauty, drama, romance, comedy, and plenty of action. It’s definitely
making it into the collection, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!
