In the world of business as well as general life, sports
agent Jerry Maguire has always been about the business of selling. That was
until one of his clients’ son opens his eyes to what a cynical person he is and
he writes a mission statement that gets him fired, sprouting a conscience in
the process. With the help of one loyal colleague and one loud and outrageous
client, Jerry takes another stab at life, but this time he discovers that he’s
a man willing to lose everything to win the one thing worth fighting for.
This
film is lovely, absolutely lovely! It’s touching and metaphoric and
whole-heartedly warming, armed with beautiful performances from Tom Cruise and Rene
Zellweger as well as a beautifully constructed script. I absolutely adored this
film!

We first must applaud
the scriptwriters because the dialogue and general script for this movie was
absolute genius! The entire script is enriched and dripping with delicious metaphorical,
cynical, ironic, and romantic delights and it’s one of the few scripts that I
have really, I mean really taken note
of. You cannot help but marvel at the phrases that come out of these seemingly
modern characters mouths; indeed it was the script that gave the movie its
power and intrigue and general wonderfulness.
Now I must give Tom Cruise the
accolade that he deserves. Tom delivered a superb performance as the film’s
protagonist; he really gave it his all and showed us practically everything that
he’s got in his repertoire. If I wasn’t laughing with him, or rooting for him,
I was crying with him or yelling at him. A gorgeous display of drama, comedy, determination,
development, friendship, and romance, I absolutely LOVED Tom’s performance in
this movie. You rock Tom!
Starring Renee Zellweger, Cuba Gooding Jr., Kelly
Preston, Kerry O’Connell, Jay Mohr, Jonathan Lipniki, and Bonnie Hunt, Jerry Maguire is an absolutely beautiful
movie filled with life, loss, drama, growth, romance, determination,
friendship, and comedy. It’s absolutely gorgeous and a film that I know will
stay with me.
