Men In Black [M]

Living in secret are hundreds of aliens, intergalactic refugees who come to Earth to visit, start a career, or start new lives. Keeping the existence of aliens from the general public is a group of special agents called the Men In Black. A new recruit to the MIB is agent J, a former NYPD agent. Eager to get into the whole saving-the-universe thing, J’s first assignment proves to be a little more challenging than anticipated as he and agent K are assigned to track down and arrest a giant cockroach that has stolen a galaxy from an alien race who are now holding the Earth hostage.

This is a classic film. It’s the perfect Saturday-night-in movie as it’s a great balance of action, science fiction, and comedy. Armed with brilliant performances, a great comedy script, and knockout special effects, Men In Black is a classic that I can always come back to and enjoy.

Everything that was at this movie’s disposal was used to the best of its ability. The action element and the technological element went hand in hand and produced knockout entertainment as we see mass chaos and chases and heaps of gunplay with the coolest guns you’ve ever seen.
The science fiction element is there from the start with humans interacting with a variety of aliens, and the script was witty, quick, and wonderfully light and funny to play against the visual awesomeness of the action and the science fiction.
The chemistry between the two leads was the other thing that made this movie spin. Agent K, played by Tommy Lee was stern, quick of the mouth, and rather passive. Amidst all the strange and bizarre things that happen in the film, nothing seemed to phase him. Then there was Agent J, played by Will Smith, who was a brilliant contrast to K. J was relaxed, jealous, a little egocentric, and wonderfully funny. I have to say that Will Smith has got the most perfect timing! Priceless.
Starring Rip Torn, Linda Fiorentino, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Tony Shaloub, Men In Black is a classic film packed with action, aliens, awesome weapons, science fiction, and comedy. It’s a great film that I can always come back to.
