Bolt [G]

Meet Disney’s newest hero. Having spent his life on the set of an action-packed TV show, Bolt the dog has grown up to believe that he has super powers and that it’s up to him to protect his person Penny. But when he finds himself halfway across the country in the real world, his whole world gets turned upside down. Determined to get back to Hollywood and save Penny from the clutches of evil, Bolt embarks on a cross-country journey that will change his life forever.

As you all no doubt know by now, I’m a complete sucker for anything Disney. I know this film came out quite a while ago, but I never actually managed to sit down and watch it, until today. Disney Pixar delivers another great family film filled with adorable characters, a great story, and brilliant animation.

Meet Bolt. He’s the star of an action-packed television show. He has super powers that he uses to protect his person Penny from the clutches of evil. Having been on the show since he was a puppy, Bolt has come to believe that all this is real, that he actually has super powers and that there are evil people after Penny. But when one episode finishes on a cliff-hanger where Penny is captured, Bolt is determined to rescue her. In a desperate attempt to find Penny, Bolt suddenly finds himself halfway across the country in the real world. Still convinced that he has superpowers and that Penny is in mortal danger, Bolt embarks on a cross-country journey that will open his eyes and change his life.

Not since The Truman Show has the idea of reality TV been taken to such an extreme level. Raising a puppy to become a method actor is such a different idea and, of course, only Pixar could pull it off. That’s the great thing about Disney, the stories can be completely absurd and they can still make a great family movie, I mean look at Up.
Bolt was another Pixar triumph. It was funny, heart-warming, action-packed, and tear-jerking. Another Disney treat that the whole family can enjoy.
With the voice talents of John Travolta as the furry hero himself and Miley Cyrus as Penny, Bolt was an enchanting family film that will have you laughing and crying time and time again.
