Oh man, I am still shuddering. I first saw this movie when it came out at the cinemas, and now on DVD it can still make me cringe.
These two black cops, Kevin and Marcus, are rapidly falling out of the Chief's good books. After yet another epic blunder, they have one last chance to put them back in the Chief's good graces. A murderer is after two rich heiresses and it's up to the police to protect them. All Kevin and Marcus have to do is pick the girls up from the airport and drop them off at the Hampton's Hotel. However things take a downhill turn when they wind up in a car accident and the girls come away with a scratched nose and cut lip. After a huge "freak out" the girls refuse to see out the rest of their social weekend as planned. So Marcus and Kevin take it upon themselves to pretend to be the girls, just for the weekend so they can lure out and capture the kidnapper. But two black men pretending to be two white women proves to be a lot more difficult than they ever imagined.
Shawn and Marlon were absolutely hysterical in this movie. They have a very distinctive type of humour. I think the best way to describe it is "go there." They just push everything as far as they can and many of the punchlines and scenes they come out with are positively cringe-worthy. Their humour can be crude at times, but that's what gets the reaction from the audience. Beneath all the jokes that induce severe squirming, there is a softer and more understanding side to the movie. As the boys are pretending to be girls, they (particularly Marcus) learn about some of the hardships that women overcome and what we do to make ourselves attractive for them.
Backed up by an absolutely hysterical script, full of funny punchlines, phrases, and God knows what else, White Chicks was a crude but hilarious movie. Well worth watching, it'll definitely have you cringing.
